The Calling of Silence, A Poem In Memory of Neda 0

In memory of Neda, the innocent victim of tyranny and all the fallen soldiers of freedom

By: Max Jameson (Houston, TX)

Hello! Is there anyone out there?
Please, people, Please, I’m about to die!
This is Neda, “the calling”, calling you
Listen, I have to say my last good bye

The bullet caught me by surprise
Before I had a chance to run
Sending my last SMS in red
On the bloody streets of Tehran

I am leaving this cruel world
So tired of all the dirty lies
My account is about to expire
Before my desperate rolling eyes

I’m “the calling”, the calling of silence
Calling of misery, calling of despair
Calling of countless painful hearts
Broken beyond mending and repair

Please read my message quickly
Before the fire hoses wash it off
And carry it with the fallen leaves
To the stale water of the street trough
