On the walls of Tehran there are seven Arabic letters painted secretly to form two words: “Ma Hastim” (we exist). It began as singing in the streets of Isphahan and spread to the capital in the south before police forces ordered the crowds to disperse, but these two words resonate in three syllables: « Ma-has-tim, Ma-Hastim ! »
You can follow their actions on YouTube or Twitter, or you can watch TV coverage if you have a satellite that picks up Los Angeles based Channel One TV, the press center of the movement. Members of this new movement, which opposes the inhumane treatment of Iranian citizens and suppression of civil liberties by the Iranian government, show their support by holding peaceful gatherings in public places and flying the old, post-revolutionary Iranian flag instead of the new flag, which contains Arab elements.
In a bolder move, the official site of president Ahmadinejad (www.president.ir) was hacked and temporarily displayed a non-approved message on the homepage.
As can be seen on the numerous videos posted on the Web, Ma Hastim supporters gather in public locations and hold peace rallies in which “Ma Hastim” is chanted to make their existence known. The movement calls upon its supporters to gather in front of bakeries and purchase bread each Thursday at 6 p.m.
As of yet, the power of this movement, founded by presidential opponent Shahram Homayoun, is marginal and likely will not weigh on the June 12 election, but Ma Hastim has wisely invested in making their presence known across different media sources and continues to appeal to the youth of Iran.

Individuality of never to be gorgotten
First I am glad that I have seen this matter about MA HASTIM’s movement in Iran on a belgian newspaper. It is a movement apposed with anything of foreigner’s cultures like arabization or others.
According to our histoiy’s culture, we have it more than 7000 years ago, older of China or Greek’s cultures and deeper and richer with humanrights.
our national charecters exposed to danger by Conquest of other racials; but we have been their with our resistance!
Iran is a rich country with her mines and her cultures. therefore our enemies attack us and our country.
At this moment we have a thirty’s goverment old,Islamic Repablic of Iran, after our new revolution that he try to arabization us. The Channel one tv in the America try to inform to iranian peoples in all the world this reality matter by Mr Shahram Homayoun. Ten years ago he has begun his work in this television with protection of himself( Shahram Homayon )
During one year of recent The MA HASTIM’s movement has could find thousands family in Iran and in all the world with the suport of financial and devotion via Channel one television.
It began to sell of the evolutional’s flag without a word of the arabian languages or other. The regime in Iran
has been angry of this inform now!
In the course of this year Islamic republic of Iran has done three times shout down on satalite the channel one tv.
The artery of vital importance of this movement is now two matters for more joint among the peoples in Iran:
-hang of the flag.
- assemble of the peoples with each diferece opinion into the bakeries on every thursday evening.
Unfortunately the regime is against of this television.
